The Art Influencer

To be an artist in today's modern age is to be your own photographer, social media Creator, and a Sale's man. Most of of my presentation come from social media platforms. Instagram posts, Facebook posts, videos, reels, all of that content curator stuff. Something I have noticed from other artists with way larger platforms, is they all have to be "influencers". There is this "showmanship" to present their art in ways to get likes and follows.
Since the Dawn of the the renaissance art has always been looked at as an elite profession. Where patrons where lining up behind the artist to fund their art. But slowly Its flipped on its back side and it feels like begging for Patronage. Getting in front of a camera presenting ourselves in a unrealistic light to get sales and popularity. The Art profession is evolving with the modern times, yet losing its reputation. How ever difficult the road is for me I refuse to paint my self as someone I simply am not. That's my rant for the day. I guess that's what the 'Artists' struggle' means.
Let me know if you've also been a victim to the social media platforms.
